These are usually cut out of various thicknesses (from 3/16" thick to 2" thick) of gatorfoam (a hard, flat, lightweight foam-centered hardboard) and sanded and painted to order or have brushed aluminum or other materials laminated to the top surface for a wide variety of looks.
